- So what does the Foundation
do? In a nutshell, we provide free firearms safety training
for qualified students.
- What is a qualified student?
Generally, a qualified student is a minor, with signed parental consent,
who is unable to afford his/her own safety instruction and lives in
the Houston, Texas area .
- Are there costs involved?
No. The Foundation provides all of the tools, material, supplies,
and training free of charge.
- Can anyone get this free training?
Unfortunately, no. We can only afford to provide trainng to a very
few students at this time. We hope to increase the numbers as the
Foundation grows.
- How does the Foundation decide
who gets the free training? The Foundation meets and reviews
inquiries that have been received. The Foundation determines how many
students can be taught at the current time and who is eligible for
the training based upon a variety of criteria.
- So, who is The Folloder Foundation?
The Foundation is a non-profit educational charity. Its current Directors
are: Jeff Folloder, Penny Folloder and Scott
Folloder.
- What kind of training/instruction
do you provide? We teach the fundamental concepts of firearm
safety. When the class is completed, the student should be well versed
with firearm safety concepts and the basic use of firearms.
- What types of weapons do you
use in class? We use a variety of standard handguns, rifles,
and shotguns, depending on the specific class. We also use suppressed
and other "NFA" weapons for specific situations. We also
provide eye and ear safety devices for use during the classes.
- Will a certificate be provided?
The Foundation class does not qualify the student for recognition
by any local, state, or federal entity. Since a certificate would
not serve any purpose, one is not provided.
- So why should my kid do this?
There is never such a thing as too much safety training .
- Do you accept donations?
Yes. We accept donations of working firearms, ammunition, and financial
remuneration. We do provide receipts. We are recognized by the IRS as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
